Small Victory for Sask Taxpayers

Author: Colin Craig 2012/03/12

Well, it looks like a small victory is in the works for Saskatchewan taxpayers.

Previously, the CTF blew the whistle on the Prairie Valley School Division's decision to meet with the Education Minister on March 14, plead poverty as a result of the new funding formula and then head off to a spa retreat for 2-3 days.

Well, it now appears the spa retreat for trustees has been cancelled. The new March 14 meeting agenda mentions nothing about a spa retreat whatsoever.

If you have a chance, why not email the board chair and tell him 'good work' on deciding to reconsider the board's second retreat within the past eight months...after all, the board just went on a retreat last August to Good Spirit Lake.

In the grand scheme of their budget, it may not be a huge cost, but like they say - every dollar adds up!
